Robotics engineering services,
from sensor to fleet

SQUAD builds every layer of your robotics product: firmware, ROS integration, fleet backends, and OTA. Our depth is in vision: camera and optics selection; ISP tuning; detection that holds frame rate on target silicon; telemetry that keeps deployed units visible. Hardware is validated in our own labs before production.

Our robotics engineering development services

One team owns all layers of robotics product development. Nothing gets lost between vendors. Radio performance is tested in-house,
in a dedicated RF and antenna test room.

Edge AI and on-device perception

The target SoC’s compute and power limits define what a robot can see. We tune detection models, sensor fusion, and visual inspection pipelines to run within that budget on Qualcomm, Ambarella, SigmaStar, and OmniVision platforms.

Embedded systems and firmware

Constrained hardware leaves no room for waste. Our engineers handle real-time control, sensor and optics integration, connectivity, power management, and secure provisioning, from board bring-up to production release.

ROS integration

If your stack runs on ROS, we extend it with custom nodes, drivers for new sensors and actuators, and integration with the navigation stack.

Fleet backends and OTA

A robot you can’t update is a product you may have to recall. We build telemetry ingestion, remote diagnostics, and secure OTA update systems that keep fleets recoverable and feed inspection data into your WMS, ERP, or analytics stack.

Operator apps for web and mobile

Operators need live views, device control, alerts, and a clear way to handle exceptions without having to call support. Our iOS, Android, and web teams have developed 200+ app releases for connected-device products.

Hardware Validation

Before a product reaches tooling, we test thermal behavior, image quality, RF and antenna performance, reliability, and automated regression coverage. This happens in our own 6,500 m² labs, where hardware issues are faster and cheaper to fix.

How we de-risk your robotics program

Robotics programs stall on perception, localization, and fleet visibility once the robot leaves the building. That’s where we focus first.

Robotics programs stall on perception, localization, and fleet visibility once the robot leaves the building. That’s where we focus first.

On-board logs show what the robot believed was happening, but that’s not always reliable when behavior breaks in the field. SQUAD builds external camera-based monitoring systems that capture what happens during acceptance testing, validation runs, or live fleet operations. Pairing this outside-in view with the robot’s own inside-out sensor data gives one timeline of what it perceived and what happened. It helps pinpoint if a failure came from perception, planning, or the environment.

Bring us the stage where you're stuck:

sensor selection, a perception pipeline that misses frame rate, or a fleet you can't update.

We'll show you what it takes to move forward.

Our robotics product development and consulting models

Robotics consulting and development start where your robotics program is. There are no fixed entry points.

Technical discovery

A short engagement to confirm if the product can meet your power, compute, and cost targets. You get a sensor and SoC recommendation, a system architecture, a risk register, and an effort estimate you can take to your board.

Embedded team inside your R&D

SQUAD engineers join your existing program and own a defined layer, such as perception, firmware, fleet backend, or validation. This model works when the roadmap is already set, but you need more capacity or a specific skill you’re not hiring for.

Full-cycle product development

SQUAD owns the product from concept through manufacturing readiness, covering hardware, firmware, edge AI, cloud, and apps under one accountable team. This is where our labs matter most, because validation runs throughout the program.

Our standards, compliance, and partnerships

SQUAD follows certified management systems. We design and test each robotics product against the safety standards required in its target market.

Engineering problems we’ve solved

Real-time perception on constrained hardware, scalable ML pipelines, and validation that catches failures before deployment. These are some of the hardest parts of a robotics program, and SQUAD has delivered them in real products.

Why choose SQUAD as your robotics engineering partner

What separates us from a typical robotics software development company is what happens beyond the code.

6,500 m² of in-house labs

Thermal, image quality, radio frequency, power, and simulation testing happen in our own labs, not at a third-party test house. We check physical behavior while the design can still change, without waiting for external lab time.

One team from sensor to app

SQUAD covers optics, firmware, edge AI, cloud, and mobile under one engineering roof. When an issue appears, the same team can trace it across the full stack instead of handing it off between vendors.

Delivery over demos

We measure success by products that reach manufacturing readiness, not proofs of concept that only work in a demo. Our track record includes 900+ projects and 70+ launched devices.

Depth in vision products

Our specialists have solved perception on constrained hardware across 100+ AI features shipped in production. Robotics teams face the same challenge when cameras, models, and compute have to work together in the field.

How a robotics program runs with our team

Software vendors validate on paper until the first prototype arrives. At SQUAD, hardware is part of the process from the first week of collaboration.

  1. Technical discovery

We benchmark sensor, optics, and SoC options against your detection targets and power envelope on real units in our lab, not from datasheets. The output is a decision you can defend to a board, not just a proposal.

    Deliverables:

    • Sensor and SoC recommendation
    • Risk register
    • Effort and cost estimate
  2. Architecture and prototype

Our team builds the perception pipeline, firmware, and backend together on target silicon. Frame rate, power draw, and thermal behavior are measured in the same sprint as the work, so the design can be rethought while changes are still cheap.

    Deliverables:

    • Working prototype on target hardware
    • Measured performance baseline
    • Integration plan
    • System architecture
  3. Lab validation

Thermal, image quality, radio frequency, power, and reliability testing run against every build. This is the stage many programs outsource to a test house and then wait weeks for it to be completed.

    Deliverables:

    • Test reports per build
    • Defect log with severity
    • Automated regression suite
  4. Manufacturing readiness

We freeze the design against measured test results and close open hardware risks before tooling is committed. SQUAD has taken 70+ devices through this stage.

    Deliverables:

    • Production documentation
    • Pre-compliance test results
    • Manufacturing handover package
  5. Post-launch support and evolution

OTA infrastructure, telemetry, and remote diagnostics keep the deployed fleet visible and recoverable. New features can ship to units already in the field.

    Deliverables:

    • OTA and telemetry infrastructure
    • Monitoring dashboards
    • Release cadence
